Gabriele Stabile (’07) set out to document the lives of refugees in what might be the modern version of Ellis Island—airport hotels. He found more than ephemeral people, though, he found individuals and their stories. Of fear, escape, hard work, struggle, success; of history and future. McSweeny’s published his book, with text written by Juliet Linderman, in November of 2012.
