“The People of the Streets”- Day in the Life of Ana Ma Deluca
Ana is a missionary from Spain who moved to NYC after 25 years in the Philippines. To become closer with the homeless community in New York Ana gave up the comforts of the convent to live with “the people of the streets.” She also known as a “canner,” one who collects cans, and organized a redemption center where the homeless can bring their cans in bulk and make a small income.
