Leadville, Colorado, is the highest elevated town in the USA at 10,152 feet. The town is known for its mining; it had a brief, booming economy in the 1880’s with the discovery of silver, but after its fortunes ran out most of the people did too. Not much has changed in the last hundred years; it may be quieter but at its heart Leadville still feels like a miner’s home.
